· Carbon fiber tripod cleaning
After a long day in the field what would you use to clean a carbon fiber tripod?
Would a rag sprayed with silicon be o.k. to do the final wipe down?
Thanks

I don't like to lubricate CF. Cleaning is enough IME.

I only use a wet cloth. That's enough

I'll use a damp cloth, too. If you'd like some really detailed instructions for cleaning/servicing a Gitzo, click below:

I'll do this maybe once a year on a tripod that gets regular use, but I like clear silicone dielectric grease, as opposed to lithium grease.
