p.1 #1 · Tethered shooting on Mac with older Canon
Hi,
I am not sure if this is the right forum, but I'll try.
I am trying to shoot tehtered with my Canon 1ds II or 5D, but everything freezes. I am running Mac OS 10.5.5 and has upgraded all the Canon software.
The Camera Window launches and then goes into "not responding"-mode. The same happens with Eos Utility. When talking with Canon support in US they said that the new software does not support those cameras on OS 10.5.5.
I was wondering if anybody shoots tethered with these cameras on that version of Mac OS, or if anybody has any suggestions on how to get around it, for example with third party software.

I shot tethered to Tiger on an Intel Imac w/ a 20D before and w/ the 20D on a wireless transmitter. The first was via the EOS Utility and the latter via FTP and Lightroom 2 Hotfolder monitor.
I have never tried it on Leopard though.... maybe later tonight. That would suck if its true.

No problem, similar config: 10.5.4. BUT: delete Camera Window, in preferences tell EosUtility to connect to DPP (or Lightroom, if applicable) instead.
While you're at it, tell Canon's support stuff to upgrade their knowledge..;-)
