I´m very happy with this as the 24mm f/1.4 has been high up on my list for some time. It´s just so nice to see that Canon still take fast primes seriously, thank you Canon!

The official description of 24-70L stated that the AF algorithms were significantly improved over 28-70L, so I guess the electronics in lens has to do something with focusing as well.

Besides that, I don't think the 24 mkI can be calibrated by the very precise calibration software that Canon uses these days. It misses the chip to do so. I guess they have added one to the 24LII (just like they did with the 85LII).
