My Tamron 200-500mm Nikon-Mount lens is up for sale. I purchased this lens LNIB from Ebay and really enjoyed shooting with it. It's very well made and has a great zoom range. I liked shooting so much at 500mm that I ended up buying the Nikon 500mm afs-1 lens, so now this Tamron is for sale.

Item: Tamron 200-500/f5.6-6.3 (Nikon Mount) w/ Sigma 86mm UV Filter --- $590 shipped, paypal e-check

Condition: Like New in Box, except missing hood
Purchased: July 2008 LNIB from Ebay
Retails For: $830 on Amazon ($240 dollars savings)
Comes With: Box (unfortunately it's a bit worn with shipping stickers on it), Original Paper Work, Lens, Bag
Extras: Sigma UV 86mm filter (a $70+ dollar value) - All you need for great lens protection
Comments: This lens has to be one of the best value lens for those looking for long focal ranges. As mentioned, I found myself using the 500mm focal range the most... so much in fact that I've decided to get really serious about shooting long range and have just bought a nikon 500mm afs lens... and so I've decided to sell this one to fund the 500mm afs lens. I'll definitely remember how much I liked the lens though... it's lightweight, well constructed, and delivers printable images!

Bump i just sold one of these in Canon mount and this is a very underrated lens. Great deal too at $590!

I have a few interested parties and some requested photos taken with this lens. I just went outside and shot a few to post. I used a Nikon D300 and a Gitzo 1325 tripod.

You can view the image and download the original by first clicking on whatever thumbnail then right clicking the larger image. Keep in mind this is from a lens ~590 dollars and won't be as sharp as say the $5000+ 500mm nikon lens. At the same time I feel the images are still very good and printable, and the lens itself is a whole lot lighter than the Nikon 500mm lens so you won't need to upgrade your tripod which is pretty much $1000 dollars alone... I know because I recently did the upgrade and even buying all used it's still a lot of money (Gitzo tripod, RRS ball head, Wimberly Sidekick, Wimberly replacement foot).

The Tamron 200-500 lens has a good tripod foot and it's lighter than say the 70/80-200mm afs lens so you can use non-expensive tripods on it. I was also asked if this was the Di version of lens and yes it is.

Still for sale. Glad I'm in no rush to sell this... it's been up for sale for a while now. I personally think if you want to get in the far focal ranges for non-astronomical prices that this lens is one of the best picks. Well PM me if you're interested
