Composition is good although you might leave more space in front of him where he is shooting into. This would also have him less centred.

The jacket and arm are overexposed but you can fix this in photoshop. I would play with curves and shadows to bring out the detail in his arm.

The bokeh is great for this shot.

I might crop the bottom off a bit to just above the button below his elbow.

I asked my wife for a similar jacket for my birthday - but she refused - something about me already looking geeky enough - maybe I will just buy it and get my old camera out. Its funny how fast technology changes now. Every year cameras are getting way better whereas they stayed pretty constant for a number of years.

hes a friend I talk with when I am downtown..hes been around taking pictures for many years he is old school(nikon) always give me a bad time when I have my digital and would say when am going to get a real camera(nikon)?
I dont have photoshop just DPP right now..waiting for my copy of lightroom to return..had it before my PC went to hell and lost about 100 pics in the process..
liked LR it seemed to be much better at fixing over/under exposed shots.
right now I only have the 50 f1.8 and tamron 27-75 working on getting a 70-200L non IS and a 17-40L

btw this was a hard pic to get..he knew I was trying..
and wanted to get him doing what he loves going to get him a print of this he will like it.
