p.1 #1 · Sealing photographs

Hello,
I'm planning on mounting some photos on foam board for display under different type lights so I need to seal the pictures from the air, with perhaps some UV protectant too. Any help as to products and where to purchanse is greatly appreciated.

Machine laminating's popular these days, if you're into the look it produces. Any local pro lab should be able to do it. Obviously you'd probably want to laminate the print before mounting.

Otherwise there are any number of varnishes available for inkjet prints. Hahnemühle, Moab, PremierArt... They all make varnish. Breathing Color's Glamour II is also quite nice (they market it for canvas but it works on anything), and can also double as a mounting adhesive.

Results are pretty much identical from any of the varnishes, so feel free to buy whatever you like/can find if you go that route. If you've got a well-equipped photo store, they should carry at least one brand of varnish.

Another option would be to use some thin plexi and slap the whole shebang in a clip system of some kind.

at first glance this post title read "Stealing photographs" which intrigued me.... I had to see what it was about... boy was I dissappointed.

it's like when McDonalds first released the "Big N'Tasty" when i first looked at it - in my mind I read:

"Introducing the: Big NASTY ! " - I was thinking WOW.. i love the idea of ordering a big nasty at the counter...

'uuuuhh.. yeah I'll take 1 cheeseburger large fries and a BIG NASTY please" .. hehehe

it's late here ... and I'm a bit punchy ! I also seemed to have wandered out of my usual "wedding" and "People" forums.... I feel a bit like i've wandered into the wrong alley at dark ! i'm nervous so I mask my uncomfortable-ness with humor.. it's my coping mechanism..
