#2 and #3 are very nice, #3 has a REALLY nice composition for me, and I also like having just one bit of color. In #1- I think the sun really does NOT want to be at the tip of the mast.

1 not for me - it would have worked better if - the exposure on the boat was right. The challenge with this composition is that the sun and the boat don't fit together thematically. A tree or a mountain would work better.

2 is much better but needs more detail in the sky and slightly less warmth. Perhaps 10% cropped off left to emphasize the landsape and have a better balance between boat and land.

3 is interesting but feels like the parachute should be pointing out to the water instead of in to the land. And the people would be better to be gone.

2 is the best one for me for the reasons articulated above.

Hey Tim,
Nice selection here.
I agree with what the others have said about the first.
I like the second a lot (you'll see an upcoming post of mine which has a similar idea to it). Scott's point about the sky is right on. You might play with it a bit in PS or your editing program to see if you can add a bit of depth and contrast to the faint clouds. If you are not familiar with how to do this, post a f/u reply for more info.
I like the toning/color, lines and pools of water, big sky, sharpness.
Third is very interesting. I think the bright colors around the man's waste and bright kite contrast well with the misty background. Great sense of scale captured as well.

#2 is a great.

#3 is enjoyable to look at. Great colors & framing.

#1 While I usually tend to go out of my way to break rules, there are times when the rule of thirds is a beautiful thing. It would have been here, as well.

Put the boat fully left & let us see more of the "vast wasteland" landscape. Actually, that might have even improved the already nice #2 as well.

#1 might have been helped by doing an HDR, but I dunno if that boat would hold much interest anyway, by itself.
