p.1 #1 · Any affordable or near affordable IPS LCD's out there?

Right now I am using the Samsung SyncMaster 206BW. It is okay, but it has problems with reds of course. I want something more for photo work but don't have a bazillion dollars to spend on a new monitor. The one I have now I think it's a 22" widescreen monitor. I was thinking the Apple Cinema display used on ebay? Anything I should look for? Specific models? Thanks for any help you can provide!

I just sold an extra Apple 23" for a hefty discount. A buddy of mine is selling his 20". I've heard good things about NEC's as well, but don't know their price point.

Doublesight makes a 26" widescreen IPS. I recently purchased one (refurbished DS263=$600) and am very happy with it. Doublesight.com

The HP LP2065 is usually an IPS, from online reading I've been doing lately. 20" 4:3 for under $400.

Well I found a 23" Apple Cinema Display HD (Polished Aluminum) displays for $449. No dead pixels and 6 month warranty from place I bought it. Now I have to say that it does look a bit different then my old Samsung SyncMaster 206BW. The Samsung definitely has Crazy reds that look a little too bright. However I think the difference is a bit subtle, not nec. night and day. I really hope the Apple I got is a S-IPS. Anywhere I can test the difference? I have the ability to run dual monitors, so I can do a side by side comparison. Thanks.

According to this site: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1155085
you access the HP 2065 service menu thusly:

1. Turn off the monitor
2. Press and hold the leftmost “menu” button and push the power button
3. Release the power button.
4. Release the menu button and then press it again
5. The OSD menu will come up and the 5th item from the top will be previously hidden "Service..."
6. Select "Service..." to see the panel info.
