Has anyone got the scoop on new lenses to be released by Canon this year? Body rumors are everywhere; I've got a 5D so unless something stellar in the way of new bodies comes along, I'm more interested in new lenses. Please share if you've heard anything.
we can only hope...if they put it out along side a 135 f/2 IS and a 14-24 f/2.8 its going to be a very expensive upcoming couple of months--especially if a 5D successor is announced.
For some uncertain reason credible lens rumors/leaks are scarce compared to camera bodies.
Some of us had been anticipating lenses like 50 f/1.2 and 200 f/2.0 IS, however, those were merely speculations based on historical Canon lens lineup as well as current Nikkor offerings.

The only thing more depressing than waiting for new cameras is waiting for new lens announcements.
The have been no credible rumours other than the 18-200 which rates zero on my interest scale anyway. Most other rumours are mere wishlists.
There is some evidence that Canon will come out with a 18-200 IS lens. According to Bob Atkins the Chinese Canon site that apparently leaked the 50D announcement included a picture of the 50D with an 18-200 IS attached. Here is the link in which Atkins discusses it:

A new 200-400 to keep up with Nikon
That is always a solid basis for new EF lens predictions.
Wouldn't surprise me at all.
Neither would a price of $7k or so.
Unfortunately the cursed 400DO may stand in the way of that lens and perhaps a few more.
