The title is from Genesis 1:16, and I thought of St Gauden's reverse of the old US $20 dollar gold coin. I also was thinking of how everything from helium on up the periodic table was created in the death of an exploding star. How the sand, water, air...virtually everything in this image is star dust. The model is my daughter - who humors me with her cooperation for a ride to the beach. I shot other ideas as well...my son as Atlas with the sun on his back...spinning the sun on his finger tip like a basketball etc. It was a fun shoot. Strad wrote: Wow! Jim, my friend! I would like to know if the starburst was added afterwards, it looks as if the rays are accross her hands and you'd think they would be behind them, but Im always trying to put together how shots are done gives me something to try with other thinks and you've certainly did a fine job. My Sigma 30mm (and some of my other lenses) tend to do this aimed directly at the sun (and other bright lights). It is a flare and the number of points in the star is determined by the number of leafs the aperture mechanism has. In this case I think it is eight.
