Fred,
I joined several days ago and am trying to get some pictures critiqued. I have tried over 3-4 days to post. I go to the forum, create a short message, then use the browse buttons to upload 3 pictures. I also click the Show Exif button. Then I hit send message. It takes several moments, then I get a nothing specified message. My posts have been showing up without pictures; however, today my post didn't even show up.

Help! I would also like to post to the gallery - how

Are you using jpeg images of no more than about 200K in size?

Paul,
I just checked one picture it's 3.3MB. I am so new to Adobe Photoshop Elements - how do I save to make it smaller?

Not absolutely certain in Elements - but in the file menu you may find an option of "save for web". If so the dialogue box will give you the chance of saving the file at reduced sizes (by reducing the quality - but this does not matter for the web.

If not the "Save as" option will allow you to reduce the qulaity at which you save the image.

However - make sure you have reduced the pixel dimensions as well - the image should be no more than say 1000pixels on the longest side.

This is probably in the Image menu under Image Size - enter the required pixel size and make sure the "resample image" box is checked.

Hope this is correct - I have the full version not Elements. ~

Hi Cory,
When presenting your photos on the web, they should be at around 640pixel for their biggest dimension and around 100 to 300kb in size. You may upload images up to 400kb in size.
Best,
Fred

Or just use "PixResizer" available for free online. I use it, it does 1 pic or a batch...to the exact pixel dimension you want. You can drag and drop the size that you want and hit "Save"
