I too think you've hit the ground here running, Justin. Though like Karl says, perhaps you can lessen the highlights and darken things just a tad to make them "pop" more, particularly #1. That #2 Swallow Just Before the Swallow is fabulous. Great timing there! Hope to see more of your work here, the folks here are right nice and helpful with their advice...
Excellent start Justin. #2 is spectacular. I could spend 5 days straight shooting Swallows and not get a shot even close to that. Heck just getting one in focus is a feat. Very impressive.
Justin, as mentioned above several times, this is a fantastic start. I also look forward to more from you! I can't say that all of the divisions of this site are as welcoming to new people, but the people in the Nature section have been extremely helpful and kind to me. I'm sure you will find the same...keep posting your work & don't be intimidated by the other talent. You clearly have some talent yourself!
Very nice indeed Justin. Congrats
I shot with a rebel XT for two years and learned that it had a tendency to overexpose and lose highlights. Thus I usually tried to underexpose a bit to compensate for most shots
