OK here is the next batch of Mustang photos from our trip to the OBX with proper horse terminology
1. Mama Mare "OK off to school little colt" kiss
2. Little Colt "Awe Mom, back at ya"
3. Big Daddy Stallion "That little colt is gonna eat me out of house and home"
4. Mama Mare "What do you mean eat you out house and home? Im doing all the feeding!"
5. One big happy horse family or herd (Sorry Lil!)
6. A little sea grass for breakfast will keep ya regular!
7. One more of the Stallion showing some spirit
8. This last photo isn't the greatest but I thought it was cool when the bird came in to take a rest. Also if you look close there is a dragon fly in the pic above the bird. If I could only have gotten a flower in the pic I would have somthing to please everyone! Even Ant!
I think thats it for horse pics, Im gonna start working on bird pics next
Greg, thanks for another horse series, I'm not a horse person per se but I do love beautiful animals and these take the cake. I like the fact that these are "wild", that adds to the feel. They are all well photoged and a treat to my eyes. 5 is my favorite.
Great horsey pics, Greg! I'll leave the proper equine nomenclature to you and Lil... Super-sharp, great light and I like the setting, unusual for horses I think. Faves are #s 1,5 and 8. So, should that bird be re-named a Horse Egret?
These beach shots look great Greg. The horses are beautiful, the natural surroundings are splendid! Now, that last shot, very cool, ya did good, fur, feathers and wings is this what you call image stacking
Ahhh, the beach life, must have been a wonderful vacation.

Thanks Tim, I didn’t want to flood the market with horse pics but I took over 600 that day and it was tuff to pare them down.

Nice series Greg & the colt is super cute.
Correct vocabulary - I give you an A+
Body language is a little off, but close enough.
# 1, 2, 3, & 6 are my top picks.
It's wonderful that they're in the wild & free to roam. But the horse lover/owner in me so want to reach out & fix a few things for them.
Lil
Thanks for the A+ Lil, I had a good teacher

Thanks Steve, I couldn’t belive the horse egret came right up and landed while I was taking pictures. I guess he was jelous of all the attention the horses were getting

Great set, Greg!! I really like number 8. I guess humans aren't the only other animal to ride horses!!
Frank
Yea the horse didn’t seem to mind either. Somehow I don’t think he would have reacted the same if I tried to sit on him

Yea I thought about photoshoping in a flower for Ant but I decided to leave it natural thanks for the compliments it was a great trip.
Kitehog, what's not to like!?! Fantastic set! Faves are #1 for demontrating the emotion any parent can relate to, and #7 which shows the wild side of these beautiful horses. Nice show.

Nice pictures. I like the stallion prancing a bit. But the 2 with cattle egret and dragonfly is also a good one.
Hey, if you have a picture of two colts gamboling or play-fighting, would that one be "Mustang, heir to heir"? (mild apology to that other FM forum)
bill
Thanks Bill, I seem to remember the Mustang Air to Air thread from somewhere

Thanks Justin, Between myself, my wife and my daughter we took over 700 pics that day. That 8 FPS on the 300 makes it easy to over shoot

Another excellent series Greg. The colors and detail are fantastic, the beach as a bg is a big plus. Hard to pick one fav, so I'll go with 2 and 5.
Doug
Thanks Doug Im glad you enjoyed them. The beach does make it easy to get nice backgrounds
