Nice work Doug!! I'm delighted to learn that your abilities to find fox are not indicative of your overall ability to occasionally locate photgraphical wildlife!!

I've got my son with me here in WI this week--taking a day off today to head up to Oshkosh to see some BIF's---the metal and/or composite type though.

Best to ya.

Hey, I told you we would see a Fox and we saw one!! I told you we should have relieved Phil of HIS card, I don't think he even owns a computer!

Hope you had fun at the air show, did your son let you take your camera along Let me know when you are coming back in.

Doug, I didn't see the original (oversharpened) shots, but these are fantastic. I can't help but feel a little like Trailhiker (or, at least, I know how he feels). Congratulations on a great find!

Beautiful series of Great Horned Owl, Doug! Feathers and color superb!! Nice to catch the GHO out in the open. Most times I've viewed them, they were deep into carniforous trees. I especially like the close-ups.

GENE

Thank you for the wind words Gene. It's a case of being in the right place at the right time, wish that would happen more often!

Wow! Nice shots. If you look closely on number 5 and concentrate in the pupil area...you'll see your shadow or silhouette when you took the pic.

Yes, Doug.. I would say that is close up... at first I thought it was GBH up close, and when you are expecting to see a heron and an owls eyes greet you, its quite a shock, let me tell you. These have great detail. Well done.

Thank you much Shelley. He was very close and evidently didn't want to leave his breakfast, so I just took a few and let him alone. Definitely a lucky find!

Doug, these are great, thank you for posting them. I do agree with the comment about the oversharpened look on some of them, but they are really stunning pictures. Great shooting.

Chris

Thank you for the kind words Chris. I'm not sure how I missed the sharpening on the first ones, I think the redo is much better.

Well, I have to say I didn't notice the oversharpening the first time around, Doug. But between my cheapo reading glasses and my monitor, it's really hard to figure out WHAT'S going on sometimes... Still like 'em all, even more so now, and that last one is ever more of a stunner...It would look good on the door of a supervisor! (and have the eyes that follow you around

Best Wishes,
Steve

Thanks for the comments Terry. It was early in the morning and there was still a lot of dew on the grasses, I don't know if the moisture was from that or the water. All I know is that it wasn't leaving it;s breakfast on the ground.
