You are right .... I didn't! MF lenses were totally frustrating to use on the 5D. But the advent of the AF-confirm or focus confirmation chip and live view made MF lenses useable, to me. Also, I have ordered the Maxwell Hi-Lux screen and I just got my Nikon DK-17M magnifying eyepiece. These tools help to make MF a lot easier. Without these aids (especially live view) I could not deal with MF lenses. Even with these aids, I would never use a MF lens if I need to shoot quickly.

I haven't seen these yet. First is a Schneider-Kreuznach Retina Xenar 50mm f/2.8 in Deckel mount, and the second is a Spiratone Macrotar 35mm f/3.5 bellows lens.

Funny thing is I just got the OM-2S to go with my 55/1.2 (and 18/3.5, 50/1.4, 28/3.5)!

It seems you are missing a screw in the front lens plate of the 5D

Looks really nice on the m6!

Great combo I imagine

surprisingly light! Lighter than my Leica 50/1.4 SLR lens. It's a pretty good combo Ulrik, but the 0.72 finder on the M6 is a little wide, I can still frame and focus but I feel distanced from the subject. I've ordered a magnifier to make it 0.85 equivalent

André, Just get one, you won't regret it

Here's a new combination. Voigtlander 28/3.5 Color Skopar (Leica screw mount, M39) on Olympus E-P1.

Taken on the cheap faux-wood floor of my attic. Used studio lights and bits of thick clothing to construct the lighting.

I don't smoke, but looking at this photo makes me want a cigarette or something.

Sadly, the camera and 21/2.8 have been sold, a long time ago. I've got just the 50 and 28 now (different copies).

Steve, nice looking camera. I sold my RTS II a few years ago, and I kept my 139Q, because it's such a nice place for a Tessar 45/2.8, but I never even handled an Aria.

Thanks, Jim. I miss the camera sometimes (and the 21 often!). The Aria has a nice feel, and it's very compact, maybe too much though, so I actually prefer a beefier RX. The 21/2.8 felt a bit front heavy on the Aria, but balances perfectly with an RX, or RTSII, I'd imagine.

vario1, good eye!

It's actually a 1DII, but you're right about the missing screw. I'll drop in to the Camera Repair Centre later this week and pick up a new one. People sometimes tell me that I have a screw loose, but I didn't believe them until now.
