Thanks Marjorie.
The rest of the story goes like....
My 36yo hand (ummm... not too hard to pick) holding son Zed's 2yo hand, holding Sarah's 4 yo hand, holding wife Paula's.... better stop there eh

Cheers,

Nice idea, Andy. The size differences and tone (and age ) really works well with this. Of course the spot on exposure is right on. Mike

Thanks Mike I appreciate the comments.

The idea was good and it has worked pretty well, but now I know why they say dont work with animals and children, my 2yo thought we were playing a game and wanted to start jumping everytime we got into "formation"

I would love to do this shot every year now, it would make an awesome time lapse showing our aging and the kids growth. Now if I can talk the family into a daily shot... 355 per year, 25 frames per second, 14 seconds per year of video... how long do I have to live to make it a feature length movie time lapse.... about 385 years.

Cheers,

Andy, this is exactly the image I had in mind to take for my family. You did an excellent job. Now I guess I will have to think of something else...

Jeff you have great ideas so I'm sure that "plan B" will be just as good, I look forward to seeing it.

Thanks John, I'm happy with it.

Cheers Dave, 2am reshoot is out of the question... although it might be easier when the kids are asleep

Great idea. If it weren't for the all the controversy recently, I'd say this is a great family 'portrait' I'm planning on a shot that involves some children, so thanks for the warning as well. Best of luck

I love the "family portrait" idea. The transition between small and large, light and heavy, young and old(er) is beautiful. Great balance. A very nice image!

Gosh thanks Lightworker (Steve?). There is a good story in there of four lives with unique perspectives, differing interests but a common life-long bond that is family.... and as they say, you cannot choose your relatives.

…but I refuse to call this a portrait, I wont call this a portrait, I shouldn’t call this a portrait, do you think I should change the title to “Four Freeman Family Fore Portrait” or try and work BBQ sauce into it somewhere!

With 2 & 4 year olds?

"STOP! Please back away from the barbeque sauce!"

Andy - what a neat idea. I'll bet the kids were having a great time with this. A once a year shot of this will be priceless as time goes by. Good luck!
