First off i know they are big - i wanna show off my sharpness
I have been striving for that sharp shot from my 30D and i think Miss Siggy and I really started bonding with eachother because i got some of the sharpest shots of my (short) career in sports
I am working on putting together A sports shooter portfolio so i was looking for some detail shots to add to the arsenal. these are from awhile ago - i think i used nikon D200 on these two (my 30D busted and it was all i had to borrow - no me gusta)
Super sharp Dann. This is lure of Miss Siggy though. She'll get you all pumped up one day and then on the next, she can't find a focus worth sh*t and leave you scratching your head and her ass on the sofa.
Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer, and keep Miss Siggy between your legs.
Dann, nice stuff here and sharp. Good luck with the new toy.
Paul you are a pisser...just got back from a church bazaar where the beers were cold and fine and when I read this, it laid me out in a laughing jag. Good One!!!

Miss Siggy seems to know when I'm getting frustrated to the point of trading her in for a different woman. She strings me along with good to mediocre results and just when I've had enough, she amazes me. It truly is a love/hate relationship. But, when the day is done, no one else makes a comparable lens. So we take her gifts and try to woo her into showing her best assets as often as possible.

It seems like all "Miss Siggy's" have the same trait.
I beat myself up trying to work out why she was so difficult. Looking at the weather/light conditions, but gave up when i couldn't find a reason.
As with others whenever she was going to get the flick she performed.
I do have to say im much happier since she is gone !!

I almost bought a 2nd one last summer (sold the 1st). I talked myself out of it. You couldn't be more accurate. These images are what i expect from this lens. Really super sharp...sorta...sometimes...not much contrast and warm.
I love 'miss siggy'. Produces fantastic sharp images, nice and contrasty also on my D2h bodies. If your working on a budget, this is a top choice of lenses.
Can't see us parting company for some time to come.
Nice shots Dann. For #1 in your first post, I think you should watch your horizon, I almost fall off my chair ;-)
Regarding Paul's comments about Miss Siggy, this is soo true. My feeling for this lens is that it's not very reliable, but when it's working it's working great.
You're tempting me Dann. I've been SO close to pulling the trigger on this lens a few times and held back because I can't trust the AF system enough. I gotta admit, I've seen so many absolute gems from it, and the range is literally perfect for a lot of the shooting I do. I have the 100-300 f4 Siggy and the AF is just way too inconsistent, where the 70-200's focus near-perfect near-every-time, as does my 300mm f4. So stop posting tack sharp shots please. I can't afford it!
