DanceWithLight Offline Image Upload: Off Looking to Assist Looking to assist a professional photographer in the NY area and would like some advice about how to establish such a relationship. sboerup Offline Buy and Sell: On Looking to Assist People that send me emails or letters with resumes usually get ignored by me. The email just gets archived, and the letter sits in a folder on the desk. If they want to get my interest, they need to follow up on those emails/letters to see if I received them and thought about the position. DanceWithLight Offline Image Upload: Off Looking to Assist I too believe in the knocking on doors approach and have had limited success with it, but I find most photographers are not receptive. I am not a kid anymore - just turned 50 -and I am not your typical would be assistant. I am looking for a more efficient way to make contacts and was hoping it might be possible through one of the forums on this site. Ideally I would like to ease into photography part time, working different jobs/events as my schedule (and the available opportunities), allow.
