# 302 Energy Connection

I've often thought of challenging myself to find a way to make one of the ugliest things on the planet - high energy electricity towers - look pretty. Well.... I don't think it's possible. But, this assignment gave me a chance to try. I used a variety of filters to make this look more interesting but to not much avail.

Love it! It looks like modern/abstract art. Nice treatment, very innovative.

Thank you, Bev. I'm glad you like it. I doubt it will make the finals but at least I tried something. I must say it is hard to make something so ugly look halfway decent.

Fond regards,

Endre

Very interesting. I like the idea. But I'm wondering if you tried it with the tower in black instead of white (and perhaps a brighter background). Might make more of a "statement". But then again, it may not work. Best of luck!

Very different but sweet shot at the same time. Love the diversity in this shot.

Good for you for trying it. I think I like the original better, but mainly because the sky feels a little washed out in the second one. Maybe if you had ignored that part of my suggestion and had a sky more like the original...? (no, please don't feel compelled to waste any more of your time with my suggestions)

The original is still a contender IMO.

Best wishes,
Rich

OK, Rich. We aim to please. How about now? It was an easy put-together and took only a minute or so.

All the best,

Endre

I like the first pic much better as the white makes it much more unique.

I envy your PS skills beyond words….

Happy shooting,
Yakim.

Hi Endre...I like the first image alot. The choice of the negative (in this case white) presentation of the power lines works well with your idea of them being ugly, but that's offset by the sunset-like background of tranquility.
Great ideas, and i like the overall composition as well

Very cool effect in the first photo. Makes me think of electricity with the whites.
Dont think the third is comparable, but thats me. And finally to confuse you I also like the second equally against the first. Makes the the wires and the grid look harsh and stand out against the pastel sky. Both for me are very well done. Your choice will be the best one

Thanks, again, Yakim. I like the first one better, too so I'm keeping it.

PS isn't hard to learn but it is intimidating if you don't know what things do and how to makd things hapen. After one gets a good understanding of the basics, it is fairly easy to extrapolate how to do almost anything. If you ever get PS and want some help, plese don't hesitate to ask.

All best wishes,

Endre

Thanks, Gotsy. The association of white with electricity and energy was what made me like the wite version the best. That was my idea, so I'm glad it communiated to you. Another reason to keep the first one as my entry. So glad you like it. Your opinion is always appreciated.

All best wishes,

Endre

When all is said and done, I, too, like the first one. I hope you don't feel I was expecting you to jump through hoops; I was just musing about alternatives. Anyway, you have a real challenger with your fine entry. Best of luck!

Kind regards,
Rich
