Last Thursday my husband and I closed on our first house. Exciting, yes, but totally overwhelming. To add to the chaos, my husband had to move our stuff without me as I had a wedding. I can now add getting out of moving to the list of reasons I love shooting weddings
We were on a public beach in New Haven which presented some problems (such as beach visitors trying to get in the wedding portraits), but overall it was a great day. Big thanks to Autumn . Who agreed to second shoot for me with only about a week's notice
I've been trying new things with my post processing lately. Please give me constructive criticism on both the images and the PP. I tried to incorporate some different angles and distance from my subjects this time
#3 through #7 are my favorites, though he looks like he's about to say or do something in #6. I love the capture of emotions in #7 and the way she's looking back in #5 - great capture. I personally like the PP in #3 and #4. The look great and spiffy but at the same time, they don't take too much attention away from the couple, IMHO. Funny story about #3 is that I live in New Haven and I nearly proposed to my wife (then girlfriend) on top of that lighthouse, but jumped the gun the evening before. Oh well, it was waaay to hot in that lighthouse anyways.
processing is a little much for my tastes, but some nice shots, nonetheless
my favorite shot is #5-the sense of motion, coupled with her expression is great-looking a 2nd time, 4 is also a good one-i would like it a little more, though, if the bouquet weren't placed so centrally-maybe off to the side (left) would balance the pic for me

I seem to agree on just about all the advice you give Daniel...
Congratulations on your new home! I am killing time right this minute, waiting for the phone call to pick up the keys to our new home too! And I have to shoot all weekend, so someone else will be moving!! yikes, its hard to give up control. I hope i have an awesome wedding that makes me forget the moving that I am not doing!!
