Hey thats a great rule of thumb if your a legit seller. However when someone who has just joined the forum posts an item for $300-$400 less than what the item is fetching and does not accept paypal/credit cards it puts up a red flag.
I find the members here at FM tend to look out for one another and this is just a simple reminder to be aware of who your are dealing with as there is always someone out there looking to pull a fast one.

300 less? Really, I actually didn't see any posted for sale but once again, pre D700 the price would be higher I would think.
It pleases me to hear you say that the members look out for one another, someday I might be buying rather than selling

how do u offer to sell ur d40x for 500 and then sell ur d300 for 1000? and no way to pm on nikoncafe to verify bc ur a guest on nikon cafe... hmmm interesting..
right price is still around 1450.. just bc a camera came out that cost more than 1K over d300 what does that have to do with d300? IMHO.
What has happened to this once fantastic community? Have we really turned into a group that is THAT cynical and quick to imply accusations? Great deals come and go. You missed it, someone else thought it was good too and made the deal. get over it. Frankly, its none of your business.
We used to be a community here that was courteous and respectful of each other. I've found some great deals along the way, and have missed many more. We grow through new members and time, time again I see them met with unopen arms and giving them the stink-eye presuming the worst. Think about; how often have you heard of someone actually being ripped off here? It has happened, but it's rare at best.

I know we all need to watch out for each other, but come on, be realistic. And for goodness sake, just because YOU missed the deal don't be the bitter accuser we see hints of here.
