Aus = Zeiss I guess, at f/2.8 here probably ?

Shot at f/4 close to the minimum focus distance.
It is a Praktica kitlens. It has the zebra stripes of a Zeiss, but the only lettering on
the front says: 'Aus Jena'

Aus Jena means from Jena, a place in Germany.

Thank you Victor - that was an interesting read.I knew some of it from earlier but this Aus Jena thing is something I never really understood fully.

Here are some wide open shots with my CZ-Sony 135 f1.8 lens on a 1ds3.
This lens has a nice combination of super sharpness, contrast, color and smooth bokeh even when wide open.
