Due to all the nice bridge images Ive been catching lately, I thought it might be fun to see ppl posting up their fav (or two) bridge photo's in one thread......what do yall think?
Woke up early to get a sunrise shot, but the overcast skies and fog ruined it, so I thought. Then I busted out w/ the graduated tobacco filter (Cokin) and used a slower shutter speed and achieved this effect.
Great Pic. I lived in PH when I was about 11-15. I've ridden my bike across the Blue Water Bridge (with firecrackers stuffed in the handlebars. that was a risky experience I wouldn't want to repeat today with dogs sniffing around and all.) Lot of good memories of the bridge, St Clair River, Canadian beaches on Huron, etc.
Oh man Im glad this thread drew some attention, Ive been working my hyde off the past few nights and havent had the chance to see if there were new posts!
Anyhow, Im amazed at some of the work displayed in here, I swear some of the BEST photographers on the net frequent this site!
Some of my favs are the B&W GGB up top, very nicely done.....a surreal look.
I also liked the 3rd Newport image just above.
But they were all great and something to be proud of folks!
Here's another one that I gave a somewhat illustration look of the Manhattan Bridge.
... I just posted a bridge pic about 30 seconds ago, then noticed this thread...
EDIT: Forgot to mention... this is the Manhattan Bridge, shot from Brooklyn yesterday.
Went down to Brooklyn to shoot the Olefur Elliason waterfalls under the bridges with some of my Flickr buddies 2 nights ago. The waterfalls were a bust - we couldn't find a decent vantage point until we got back to Manhattan and when we finally made it back to South Street Seaport, they turned off the spotlights illuminating the waterfalls literally 90 seconds later. Bah.
Anyway, I took this instead. It was 3 bracketed shots combined using the Enfuse project's code. If anyone isn't familiar with it, it's very cool for stacking bracketed shots, but has none of that totally overdone, totally cheesy HDR look (which I nearly always despise).

Beautiful. Love the long exposure on the water and the lights. Star filter, I assume? No EXIF visible... can you give some details on the setup and exposure?
