My first Wedding!!! Wow! Wow Wow!

It went absoluteley amazing!!! things went so fast and didnt get to do any formals with bride and groom as no time but they wanted to enjoy the fun so that was fine with me...

For thhe FULL GALLERY Please click HERE http://nutall.tobiahtayo.com/

Normally i would click of such things personally but I assure you that it is worth looking at.

Got so much portfolio material! Took about 23GB's worth of shots!

It just went so smooth and i am SUPER SUPER SUPER pleased with the images...

I didn't even get time to go in the church before they opened the doors to walk down the isle! (crazy i know!) but it was ok...
Was so funny cos their little kid was wondering around in the ceremony and in one of the shots he's lay next to his mum and dad whilst they are praying and theyre both looking at him and laughing.

The Bride and Groom loved us. I did an e-session for them a couple of weeks ago (which can be found on my blog) and the bride and her sister said they cried when they saw it. She said I feel bad for paying you so little and in the speech she was saying I was the next best thing and in a couple of years would be charging £2000 (well i've but my prices up now i've seen what I can do with help at all)

In every speech we were mentioned as being amazing and it looks like i've booked another job for portrait as well. People thought we were their friends we got on so well. She was an amazing person - so easy to get on with.

During the night various people asked me to do portraits of them so we did e-session like 5 min shoots outside as time permitted...

Chris Rustage from the forum helped me out and was amazing too, as well as my girlfriend Hannah.

I'd just like to say thanks for all the guys here that gave me the confidence to get to this point and now progress further.

Anyway enough chat here are the shots!

(btw - I don't want to come across as overly confident -sorry if it looks that way i'm just super super happy with the images i got)

KEEP CHECKING BACK. I WILL POST MORE AS TIME PERMITS...

pretty much none. i have done 2 e-sessions and have second shot one wedding where they did 20 min formals...

this is the first time i ever nailed the off camera flash outdoors with underexposed sky. what a time to do it. as you will see on my blog www.tobiahtayo.com

i have done 4 baby portrait sessions but not really similar ideas. I also previously took some shots at a friends wedding.

I had high hopes and thought i was gonna be disappointed and im so happy im not.

my new 85L lens was great (people advised me not to use it - i got it on thursday shot on sunday wiht like 30 mins practice) but it served me very well.

Ideally i would have done some off cam flash shots of bride and groom around where we did their engagement session (same place they married) then i would have done some of them at the church. really cool church. but you cant do everything...

weddings arent a photoshoot imo - although its hard not to make them one.

tobiah, not a fan of the first 3 tilts, but otherwise, wonderful set-the lighting and compositions are great-and for a "first" wedding? are you sure? you're obviously not a rookie with regards to photography

did you do an e-session with guests from the wedding? not sure if i misread that, but i would try to schedule it for later and concentrate on the couple that paid you-just my two cents on that

thanks for sharing

just the right amount of flash

things seem to fall in place for you

sometimes everything works smoothly and other times Murphy's Law seems to be in effect

a lot of your success, however, was due to the fact that you know what you need to do and you persist in trying

Fantastic job and thanks for sharing!

Fantastic work on these.

I agree with Daniel in regard to the tilt in the first 3. Not needed at all and only reduced the effect of a great 3 shots. Flower girls and dance shot are superb.

lighting is with speedlights one vivitar at full power each side. full lighting info can be seen on my flickr www.flickr.com/tobiahtayo

re the esession style shots.... various people asked me to do portraits as the wedding was going on. i agreed as the bride and groom were socializing and i already had plenty of shots.... good port material for my new site

Great set of images! #2 You rocked it! Not loving the tilt so much, but any bride would love to have that image! Well done!

The tilts are over done but not bad work other than that. Impressive for your first wedding for sure.

Great series, I love the first few shots. The only complaint I would have is that in several of your first gallery pics the vignett is overdone. When its too pronounced it looks cheezy. Dont have it look like you did it (the obvious circle).

You might be a wedding rookie, but you're definitely not a photography rookie. It just goes to show that if you're a good photographer, wedding photography isn't rocket science nor is it some impossibly difficult and completely alien type of assignment. Great stuff! I'm a sucker for some dramatic lighting, and although I could do without the tilt on the 1st 3 the lighting is awesome.

tobiah, your new additions are nice-i think that's a reasonable tilt, as it adds to an interesting composition-too bad about the closed eyes, but it's an engaging image regardless

These are great! I agree about the tilt on the first two, but otherwise fantastic set! You've got the strobist thing down. I love it. It's all about light. I love that last shoe shot. (prefer the color...) So simple, but perfect. I love the shadow of the shoes and the way the light brings out the details in the them. I struggle with details shots, these inspire me. Thanks for sharing, can't wait to see the next one!

You are good ! Too many shots. How did you handle tendonitis ? Last party I took around 700 shots with heavy equipment. My right shoulder and arm got hurt.
