This is a contest between Anthony and Myself, but we are going to need your help using the poll buttons... Anthony will be posting his shot following mine, in the same thread... We talked several times while together in "Jackson Hole" and "Yeller Bolder" that we need to do at least one floral shot for Karl/Terry... I will be the first to admit my floral talent needs some massaging in a bad way, but I'm pretty sure I have Anthony beat by a hair, What do you guys think Now be fair and give Anthony's a good look before voting...
On Chad and my trip many times the names Karl and Terry D came up. It's amazing how they turn the ordinary into something extraordinary. We thought >> Hey it's not like a critter......... IT AINT MOVIN !! How hard can it be??
Here's my tribute to Terry and Karl
What do you think??
WE LOVE YA MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN !!!

Ohhhhhh, it really is easy the hard part is that they all are good and you just have to guess what everyone else would really like to see Anthony was making sure his wasn't moving
This is going to be very tough, anyone can use pretty colors(purple) and get good results I am glad to see you used the 'short' primes on these too

Hmmmmm, looking at Chads shot.......good color, a good comp, more of the backs of the flowers than the fronts, some heavy shadows...........that's right he didn't use his beamer The diagonal green thingy is causing interference.......
Hmmmmm, looking at Anthonys, oh so daring I guess his entry is in the 'dried' floral category nice details and light on the better of the flowers(more lifelike), good color too the horizontal format is nice but a bit too much OOF interference in the bottom............
Guys, they are both pretty.......bad shots. J/K . OK here is are my honest thoughts. They both have distracting elements, (Chad, that grass blade is really annoing and takes the viewer's eye aways from the subject.) in addition Anthony's shot has a distracting foreground. Anthony's shot has softer light, a better dynamic range, and the bg complements the color of the flower (Is that a flower btw). The shape of the frame in Anthony's shot doesn't match the shape of the subject. A vertical frame would've been more appropriate and would've got rid of some wasted space on the left of the image. Anthony's shot with its warmer light and colors has a better feel. Neither of them is really catching my eye, so it is not easy to decide wich one is the best, so I decided to vote for the less bad one.
Having said so, I have only one reccomandation to make: "Go back shooting wildlife animals " J/K

Wholly cow, Socrate and I posted at same time with almost same comments, see Socrate you have taught me something
Thanks
Chad and Anthony, Socrate was very nice to you both
Well, Karl, at least you are a fast learner. They seem to still have a lonnnnnnnng way to go.
I honestly believe that shooting flowers is very hard to do. Wait... let me rephrase it. I believe that taking very good shots of flower is not easy. It takes a lot of experiece, a good vision and a good technical knoledge of photography among other things. Now, I don't know if our friends Chad and Anthony have all those minimum requirements.

Thanks guys! Try shooting a flower out of a sling shot and taking a photos, I bet mine will be better FIF shots.. (Flower In Flight)
Maggie, a very nice way to isolate the BG's on these..hmmmmmmmmmm that first one is very is a little noisy, must be a little problem with his PP, second shot is so somoothe well more smoothe that the first
Chad FIF good one, try to make your birdie look good with a macro lens
