Thanks wing. Originally I was bummed because I still had my 70-200 attached, so I couldn't zoom out wider. But I set Tv to a 1 sec SS which was about the longest I could pretend to handhold.

EXIF: Tv mode for 1 sec, 70mm, f/22, ISO 250

The others over the lake were on a tripod...
10 seconds, 85mm, f/11, ISO200.
15 seconds, 85mm, f/8, ISO100.

Busy at work and with a kid, haven't been using my camera gear other than shooting my son.

This was done last year from the bucket of an 80 ft. cherry picker. 180º HDR pano (12 images across, 5 exposures each plus 14 separate fireworks photos). 1Ds MkIII, 35/1.4L, RRS pano head. I had a 27" x 96" canvas gallery wrap made for display.

This is a terrific pano! Not too crazy about the HDR but the wide explosive impact is spectacular!

This was a lucky shot. Taken for the UK's 5th of November Guy Fawkes celebrations.

Never imagined fireworks could make a complex figure like '5' naturally.

Nice capture! It's pretty amazing what they can do with pyrotechnics these days!
