p.1 #1 · 50 mm & 70-200 mm fun

This past weekend over mother's day, I had the chance to take a couple shots of my niece and nephew. It's always fun to shoot something a little different every now and again. Typically I do a lot landscape work, but the people photography was definitely a joy. The first two shots were some quick hand helds taken with a borrowed 50mm f/1.4 and the last was with my 70-200mm f/2.8. I have become a true believer in nikkor glass and sometimes I'm truly amazed at the IQ I can achieve.

I hope you all enjoy. Any feedback is always appreciated

Thanks all for the replies. I'm usually over in the landscape area, so it's great to hear from others for a change. I have printed the first two shots as well as a full color version of the second, and I'm pretty stoked with the quality. Lately I've been using this Fujifilm pearl paper that has a slight metallic flake to it, and the colors and tones come out beautiful.

Thanks again for the feedback.

What kind of lighting on the first two? They're great shots!

There is nothing special in the lighting actually. It's entirely natural light. No flash or anything else. I was sitting on the back deck in a patio chair while my niece was looking towards the sun. That was a fun little challenge trying to get her to stand in a good spot in order to catch the late day light . As for the second shot, it's pretty much the same scenario. Me sitting in the chair while my sister was in another chair holding my nephew. Hopefully that helps you out a little bit. Thanks for the compliment too!

Those are excellent shots, but the first one is definitely the best capture

Fantastic stuff... all should be on a wall somewhere in large print size. Kudos.
