Lil: Sad to report that the nest was empty. Not a single egg ... and no chicks either. I think the eggs got eaten. On the other hand, I think there is another nest just north of the bridge. You can't see it because of the vegetation, but there was a stilt sitting on something and another stilt chasing crows and other birds away from that area.
Such a small treat for that beautiful skimmer, perhaps he was more impressed with your equipment and to pose for it These birds must be thourough enjoymnent to watch in action. Nice captures

I'm sorry to hear that Peter.... But we can hope that the eggs hatched (at least a few of them) & they took off. Granted it's not been 25 days, but we don't know when she laid them..... I find that when my Lovebirds lay eggs & they hatch, the eggs magically disappear.... Removal of evidence....
But lets hope the other pair, potentially the male & female I photographed by the bridge, have better luck...
