Some of these were taken with my 300mm F4L IS just before I sold it. My wife used it the most and I always used my 300mm F2.8L IS and a TC on a tripod. I learned that the 300 F4 isn't as fast to focus so I sold it and got the 400mm F5.6 for birds in flight. I love the focusing speed of it over the 300 F4.
I have to ask.... I know I get the moon in bright sun all the time, but I have to ask if you actually were that lucky or you've pp'ed it in. I know of people who do that kind of stuff....
The moon was infact there but I had to take two shots on the tripod one with the BCNH in focus and then rapidly changed my focus to the moon and stacked the two photos to have both in focus. Usually you would want to shoot the shot in manual mode so that the exposure doesn't change but I didn't have time at this moment and just shot in Aperture priority.
I wont ever photoshop an object that wasn't there.
I have wanted to mingle around here but everything moves so fast so I figured I would just start posting. I have been here long enough so I guess its time to get to know more folks. Again thank you for taking the time to look and comment.
Greetings Tim and thanks for the welcome. I have actually been here a while and posted a few photos in the past but lurked most of the time. Again thank you for the welcome. I will be posting on a regular basis. I'm all over the board though with my photos. I photo everything.
Ah yes lovely Palo Alto. Haven't been back in a few weeks, but what a great spot !!
Be careful over exposing those whites on #1
I really like the Egret flight # 3 except for the blown area around the head. I'm not at home in Santa Rosa right now so it may be my monitor here in the Midwest.
Have fun and keep those egrets going til I get back
Anthony is Chillin in Iowa for the next few weeks Yea BABY !!
