The ritual greeting at the door... always puts a smile on my husband's face, no matter what kind of day he's had.

Good shot Bev! I know how your husband feels as he walks through that door and sees the "welcome committee". Not many events in life top this feeling.

Good luck this week,
George

Wow! This shot shows off your versatility, Bev. You can just see that tail wagging :-). Best of luck.--Frank

That is only one of the reasons why dogs are better than humans.

I like the idea and shot but the tilt bothers me.

Happy shooting,
Yakim.

Nice pic, I like all the entries I've seen of your work. I like the tilt and angle: it's as though it's from a dogs perspective in the background, with it's head tilted.

Good luck

Andy

Bravo, yet again, Bev, my dear friend! We'll see this in the finals. I love the lighting and the sepia conversion. As to Yakim's not liking the tilt - it's important for him to realize that it's not the shot that is tilted but rather your house.

Fond regards,

Endre

Thanks, everyone!!! Really appreciate the nice feedback.

Andy, you are right about the tilt. The 2nd dog was beside me and he is famous for tilting his head; this is definitely his perspective, as I was down on the floor with him, shooting up.

Perfect take on the WA. Well thought out. As for the angle? I like it. Brings a different perspective to it rather than the "usual" straight on shot. The tone also makes this stand out. Just a great shot and connection to the theme. Like Endre, see you in the finals AGAIN

I really enjoyed the surprise factor I got in this photo. The treatment looks a bit ominous in the thumbnail gallery, and then we open it up to backlit little dog ears and a tail we can almost watch wagging. That. Is. Awesome.

Awwww, thanks Tamara!! He's a bichon with a lovely long flowing tail, and he is the best welcome home greeter anyone could have.

Game over! This is the winning photo for WA#294!!!

Love everything about it -- the tones, shadows, bright light outside the door, dog standing at the right spot & the tilt.

Another dog? I must admit that this thought hasn't crossed my mind but when I think of it now, it's really cute.

Happy shooting,
Yakim.

Hi Bev,

Wonderful shot. My little dog does the same when I come home, so I know the feeling and you have captured it so well with the warm glow of the light and the sepia conversion. This is just a terrific shot. Good luck this week.

Stunning capture. From the title I expected something slightly different, and this was just a precious little suprise. I have a dog and 2 cats and this really captured the feeling for me!

Thanks, STeve, Jim, and brake79!

"Rowdy" is a precious little surprise. I wake up to his enthusiasm and every morning is brighter and better because of the joy he and his little brother "Tyler" bring. It's very humbling to be so adored by a dog, yes?

Appreciate the comments and glad so many people have enjoyed the image.

Hello Bev,
Great Shot! I can really relate to this. Our cocker spaniel is always happy to see me come home, she still wags her little stub of a tail when she first see me, while I barely get a notice from my teenagers. Thanks for the laugh.
