Any suggestions for a good Slide Show application to use in Windoze.
Is Win Movie Maker decent?

Saw my friend using Apples i-somethig and it looked great.
Something similar you can use with Win?

Try ProShow Gold - there is a free trial I think - but it is not as cheap as using Irfanview - which is free.

Another vote for Pro Show Gold. Works great, easy to use, and provides a wide variety of outputs.

This is a topic that comes up often. You should search for more suggestions.

My recommendation is Memories on TV--a fabulous program.

ProShow is amazing. I haven't found anything on Mac that compares.

An old but good powerful customizable freeware program PhotoCDbrowser. Easy to make auto-run CD with high resolution Images.

Last time I checked ProShow Gold doesn't use full res images. Has that changed?

ACDSee uses full res images and there's a big difference from that "video" look.

What is full res? Most TV's can't come anywhere close to displaying most high end camera full resolution images.

Not sure about pro show gold, but pro show producer, their high-end product, can output video at 1080.

I often look at my slide shows on the computer and I can see a big difference in the sharpness of the pics with ACDSee and most other slide show makers I have seen. They look like "videos" where the ACDSee shows are sharp pics as if you were simply viewing the pics on the screen.

I tested ProShowGold last time and had the same issue, where pictures look kind of pixelated because of the low resolution or highly compressed JPEGs. I fed in full resolution maximum quality JPEGs, but that doesn't help.

I like and use Microsoft's Photo Story 3. It's free and easy to use.

I'm assuming you just want something to put albums on your website, or on a disk, I would recommend Jalbum if that's what you're doing. It is free, and easy to use. I have one of their albums integrated into my site if you want to see what it can do....
