MagicNikon Online Buy and Sell: On American Chameleon While fixing my fence this afternoon, I noticed this Carolina Anole watching me while I worked. I went inside and grabbed the D300, which had the 105mm VR mounted on it... and came back outside to snap few pics of my audience. Sometimes referred to as the American Chameleon (though not a true chameleon), do to its ability to change color from brown to green, depending on it's mood or time of day. This was one of the first really green specimens I have seen around my house lately. Maybe he was happy I was finally fixing my fence. I was really close to the little guy, so DOF becomes razor thin at 2.8, 3.5, 4, etc. I stopped down so that more of his head was in focus.
