Here are a few from last weekend, taking lessons from MaggieBee. I tried out the 24-70/2.8L and was pretty impressed with its IQ and bokeh. The Herons were captured with the Canon 40D w 400/5.6L.
You sure are lucky to have Maggie as a teacher It is apparent you are putting that help to very good use. These guys crack me up when they do that I like the second shot profile, nice little doo going on up top well, the third shot....WoW! Very nice comp, you got from top to bottom in the frame and picked up a wonderful reflection and great composition. Horsetail shot is nice, might have cropped in from the left more but.........Good friend of mine had and bred the Shiba Inu's, very cool dogs, you have got a pretty one there
Lessons? I don't think so, Jay. You're doing great without any interference I like all these, but the horsetails are way cool. Never would have thought of it - until now The herons looks very good and your dog is beautiful
Jay, that heron is looking pretty rough, nice job capturing it during a bad feather moment. Sometimes those elegant birds can certainly be un-elegant. Great job on the horsetails. I never knew their name but I sure have deleted a lot of bad photos of them trying to capture just what you have here. It looks easy but it sure isn't. Good job.
You have a wonderful dog, Jay and that portarit shows all its personality. I also like the heron shots, and the lighting in the horsetails shot.
