I shot a wedding for Ashlee and her new husband Ben on the weekend. I kind of like B&W's and have been playing a bit with highkey processing. I'm not sure whether it's a fad that might pass for me though...lol.
1) Her smile, is there maybe a different shot to be processed? It seems like she's more sneering, or smelled something bad. But this could be her smile, as everyone smiles differently, some less than the other, but it is my immediate attention grabber in this photo.
2) (Disclaimer, I do not claim to be a guru with BW or PP) However, I think this is a little gray for me. Her skin, the veil, the background, they get a little muddied together.
Thanks for your input. I hadn't looked at the smile as a sneer, but now that you've mentioned it, I can see how it could be seen as that. As I said, the high-key stuff is not to everyone's taste. I think I'm fixated with it at the moment... . The dof with the 1.2 is a bit narrow. I would have liked to get the other eye a bit sharper too.
This was her trying to look introspective on command...
Well I really didn't notice the smile cause of her eyes, those eyes, they look crystal clear. Mind showing a color version (either this one or another)?
Oh and about the smile, maybe a bit of Liquify can solve it?
Thanks Edward. Here's a colour version. I was going to make this a B&W as well but I haven't got round to processing it yet. It does have a slight blur on it though. She has freckles and I was trying to hide them a little.
Maid of Honour and her partner....
The background is the wall of the hotel room where they were getting ready for the wedding. It's a bit orange isn't it...
