We discovered recently that we have an Osprey couple nesting across from where I work for the second year. I spoke with Lou a bit about this nesting pair last week, and mentioned to him I was going to try and get out and take a few photos of them this weekend. Well, the weather has not been very good, rain pretty much all weekend, today we are getting about 10% sun and the times the sun was out, the Osprey were not. . Below are a couple photos taken today of the nesting pair. Don't worry I'm going back out later this afternoon to hopefully get some better lit shots. The Kalamazoo River is located about 1/8 mile from the nest location.
What a difference light conditions make. though you did good also in bad lighting conditon, Chad, especially considering the heavy crop. The rest of the shots have great detail and colors. D, H, and 3 are my favorites.
Socrate
Kewl find on the Osprey Chad. Last year I was so close to about 6 nesting pair. Then I moved and I'm yet to find a nest where I've relocated to. They sure are a lot of fun to watch and listen to the chirp back and forth.....................
Those are some HUGE LIGHTS................. My god what are they lighting up ?? Is this at a ball field ?
Nice captures Chad
Still down and sick.......... But I am feeling slightly better......... Plan to actually go to work this week.
Aaaaah yeah nothing like a BIG POO shot to lighten up my morning Chad
Great IF shots of the RTH! in #3 he's checking on you guys...sooner or later 1 of them's gonna let it go on your 500mm
Thanks everyone for commenting on the photos, these were taken where an old abandon factory used to be, the building is gone and nothing but the light poles still stand. I watched these osprey today from the window of work, they were working just as hard as I was, only they were building a nest.
All great shots and plenty of them.............envious of your outing I am! Looks like the RTH wanted to steal the show, nice work on the in-flights, great exposures.
