What is the #1 improvement or change you are hoping for on the 5D2. Just the #1 change. For me, as I have said before, it would be allow you to move EC to a separate button.

I know others will want faster focus; more megapixels, etc. but I have hit that damn dial too many times and shot at an unintended EC

That's one thing I hope they don't change! My thumb lives on that wheel.

If I had to choose one improvement it would be a more modern camera (with all that encompasses)

John - just switch off the wheel when you are shooting, then.

+1

Set the EC (or not) and then hit the switch. Don't know how it could be any easier.

The one improvement that would make it almost a worthwhile upgrade would be a 100% VF.

100 ISO performance at 1600 ISO (but throw in faster focus, weather proofing and a 50% price reduction - and I'm your customer )

If Canon does that, they will not be able to continue selling their IS lenses for a premium cost...

All jokes aside, if they will make the body a mini version of the MKIII , not having to buy a battery grip that camera on looks alone would be a great seller.

Better AF would top the list for me.

Improved AF. I would be thrilled if they went to like a 20-30pt AF (they probably won't totally cannibalize the 1-series AF) with better placed points.

1-like AF system. without that the body will be almost a pointless update over a 5D or used 1DsmkII (and will take a beating in the market for sure)

$3500 implies pro, perfect AF system not some "like a rebel" system (with a couple of hidden points near center only with f/2.8 lenses)

I would like to get boring 16 high-quality megapixels at an affordable price (for large prints).

I just want the IQ of the original 5D with all of the features of my 40D. (menus, sensor cleaning, 6.5 FPS, but with an added bonus of ISO 6400.) That would make me happy. I'm more than happy with the AF of my 40D. Why have 6.5 FPS on a camera designed for portraits and landscapes you ask.......Because I want to shoot sports with it also. I would love to have sports photos with the 5D IQ.

That pretty much sums it up for me too.

I'm pretty happy with the 5D as is. To be perfect I'd like ECF and a brighter LCD. I don't need more MP, auto clean, auto ISO or LV.

1. Usable LCD - seriously, my XT's LCD was better.

2. Faster AF with usable outer AF points. My 40D puts my 5D to shame.

That's all it would take for me to be satisfied.

Better AF and faster FPS,5 or better hopefully if possible
Better High ISO performance
Live view
14 bit
16 MP
Some sort of true auto ISO for times lighting is changing too fast to adjust
Better battery life along the lines of the MarkIII
Better LCD

Oh yeah,I forgot...better quality control so we don't have to deal with anymore MarkIII like problems

Just a mirror lockup button, that's all that could be improved

In order of importance:

Even better high ISO performance
A 3" VGA LCD + Live View
Self cleaning sensor

If it has those 3 things, I'd definitely get one.

not if you can enable/disable in-body.

in-body would probably be really nice for the wide(r)-angle lenses that do not have IS...
