left handed ..(left footed) and for some reason can't wink the right eye..so shooting guns...cameras has always been right eyed... kids also can't wink the right eye...odd stuff genetics
I've been curious about this too. The follow up question I had is if any of you notice any difference in your composition or style if you use the eye that you don't normally use. Supposedly your left eye is connected to your right brain and vice versa, and there's always talk about the difference between right brain and left brain

I am right handed and left eyed, and there's no way I can look with my right eye thru the viewfinder and actually capture something
This reminds me of a study on this topic that I read somewhere. It said that looking at the global population, the majority were right/right, but among photographers it was right handed / left eyed, and as a result the cameras are poorly designed for the target audience...

It's interesting how many of us are choosing the left eye. It would be interesting to see a study about it if you could find a link or reference.
I found out that I was left eye dominant, even though right handed, during an intense 3 days at a course to train people to use pistiols. It requires adjustment in shooting whether with a camera or a pistol.
I'm right handed and most definately left eyed. I shoot with my right eye though, but I think it's got something to do with my big nose getting in the way when I use my left.

For wildife photography it is important to be able to follow a subject with the eye that is not on the viewfinder. If you are right-handed, the only way to do this is to use the right eye on the viewfinder with the left eye open.

Agree totally with this. Right-handed, using right eye on the viewfinder.
