It was an idea that I thought might fit the topic. It turned out to be more difficult for me to execute than I anticipated though. Took a bunch of shots one day, and started to get exposure and shutter speeds for the motion, but there seemed to be too much dust and debris in the air for a quality shot. Also if the drill was properly exposed sometimes the smoke did not even show up! I bought some incense the next day and wasted time trying to fake the smoke,,,even though I got some cool and clean shots they did not convey the idea of friction. I added another 600 watt bulb in back to help the smoke show up, went back to real drilling and came up with a technique for drilling with one hand and releasing the shutter with the other. I finally got a couple of shots where the smoke looked right to me.
