My hard drive is filling up and I've decided to move a logical batch of photos to a second drive. All are in folders under a main folder heading. Most are in Lightroom, but not all.
What's my best method to move the parent folder and all sub-folders to the second drive and maintain the Lightroom library?
The easiest way is go to the Library module, and next to the "Folders" dropdown in the left panel, click on the "+" sign, which will let you create a new folder on the new drive. Then just drag the folders over to it (still in the folders section of LR). That way LR's database is still happy as it knows where everything is.
I have a slightly move complex version of this question. I am in the process of moving from a PC to MAC. After I install Lightroom on the MAC, how do I move the files to a MAC disk in a fashion that I will be able to have Lightroom on the MAC find them??

OK, thanks for the reply, that helps. I think I read in one of my books about this method and it copies the files, does not delete the original. Is that true? If so, can I simply delete the folders on the original drive with no consequences?
And what about non-LR folders. Just move them in Windows?
