If anyone is in DC (or will be) and plans to head to the start of the cherry blossom festival this weekend, drop me a line. I'll be there dark and early on Saturday to get the sunrise over the tidal basin and I would love some company.

Im in Manassas and am planning on doing this, but Im thinking of doiing the blossoms and sunrise one weekday next week instead. I went last year to the tidal basin on the opening weekend well before dawn and there must have been a million people up that darn early
I also heard that the little parking lot near the tidal basin is closed this year and people will need to park at Hanes Point and shuttle back, so Ive got this small hope that on next Tuesday or Thursday, the ability to get shots at sunrise from the tidal basin wont be blocked with a million souls all holding cameras
You still going to take the plunge on the Saturday opening of the festival weekend?
I'm going to give it a shot...so to speak. I live here in DC, but can't do it during the week because of work. I heard this morning that they're supposed to reach peak bloom later in the week, so i think you're plan is a good one.
