I just started to shoot birds recently when I acquired my TC 17 tele-extender.
While I know their is some impact on lens quality, under the right conditions, it is controlled very well. I notice that when birds are flying towards me, the focus tracking tries to keep up, but if the bird is too fast I will get sharper feet, than heads.
I hope to solve that situation, but for now I enjoy the extra reach.
