p.1 #1 · Advice for WA: Unusual Angle

I have two ideas for the weekly assignment: Unusual Angle

Any comments or critiques on the following two images would be greatly appreciated.

#1 is interesting but seems to staged (PS'd and not natural ) just my opinion.

#2 This is very disturbing (my issue), and I know not your intent...doesn't work at all for me.

Thank you for the comments!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. It is so hard to know what others will think when they see an image.

Hey Eager. I agree with Bob. You might try 2nd curtain synch on the pool shot (it would look more "realistic" if the blur followed the balls rather than preceeding them.

And yes, the 2nd has a morbid feel to it. Feel we need to experience the whole person (or at least the limb he/she is sitting on) to be assured there's no rope involved....

Keep playing and thinking. That's what these WAs are all about...

I didn't get what was so morbid about the second because I only saw it as legs hanging over a branch. But now I see that yeah, it's pretty suggestive that there's a noose involved. If we could see that they were sitting on a branch, that'd help, but that would obviously change your intention. Good ideas for angles though.
