Need a H&S shot for a job, all the ones I've had taken are old and out of date so I thought I'd use one I took last week, should I or shouldn't I use it?
Same thoughts as Scott S.
Image is very good, effect is a bit intense and unsettling. I would not provide it as a job photo unless it is for some creative/art related field.
I'll echo Scott and Scott - assuming you know the audience, the non-traditional, edgy approach could work very well.
Two very minor nits - looking at the image, imo the white of the left eye appears to too bright - competes for attention - might tone it down a bit; fix the shiny spot on the nose.
<edit> actually 3 - the tiny slice of the ear just to the right of the eyebrow, once I noticed it, has become a distraction - I keep looking for a piercing.
Its an intense image, portrait. Love the light and the usage of the b&w.
Art and a job image need not to conflict. I would like aesthethically to
see some softness to parts of it.
You wife is right
Whether or not you should use it depends on the job I guess
Having posted the above, I nipped over to have a look at your gallery...
'Me Myself and I' I really do like. It may not be suitable as a 'job application head shot', but I enjoyed it as a portrait.
