I haven't been able to break free to post for a while nor have I been able to take but a few minutes to peek at some of the great shots posted for the past few weeks. Tax time, work time and the other things we all have to deal with does not allow much time for fun things.
I saw this little Kestrel a few weeks ago and it allowed me to take a few shots. It appeared a battle had taken place recently as the little one had a feather pinned to it's breast.
40D, 400 5.6 - Thanks for looking. C & C always appreciated. Steve W
Beautiful, sharp images with great color. I love having multiple portrait angles. Nicely done, Steve. I wonder if the original owner of that feather, on his chest, looks as good as this guy does?
Gorgeous work. The feather in the chest must make these the most unique kestral shots I have seen. Lovely expressions, sharp, detailed wonderful exposures. You should be as proud as this little guy.
Steve, these are excellent. I am so jealous, I have never had the opportunity to photograph one of these kestrels, but at least I get a chance to see pictures like these. Thanks for sharing them!

Really neat shots of this Kestrel, thought that was his feather out of place til I looked at the fist full in the right talon. Hope is comes back for more photo shoots for you soon, nice.
