Went out the this February day with the intent of finding stuff sitting around waiting for winter to end so they can go back to doing what they are meant to do. Wanted more old tractors and such, but no luck this time with anything really aged, but still content with what I did see. C&C welcome please!
I'm really diggin' the middle 2, just because the equipment has that nice weathered feel and I think they make great subjects for this type of shot. Nice work!
I like this series, David. I'm surprised the Versatile tractor was left out in the snow all winter although it does look like it's seen better days. Very nicely done.
Good series David, my favorite is no. 1 because the trees add scale to the image (or maybe its the tractor that adds scale to the trees?). The lighting and colors are good, but I would like to see higher sharpness (maybe its a resolution issue?)
By the way, I wonder where in Canada you might be...can't be eastern because the snow would be well over the picnic tables
Thank you all, and sorry for the much delayed reply - work this time of year is crazy, some dayshift, some nightshift, some of both on the same day...
Chris, no not eastern, but north-east BC. We probably got as much snow as out east, although spread out over the entire winter. Thankfully an occasional chinook comes and melts it down some.... I feel for you though!
Dave, I though they would work well for conversion as well, especially the old Fargo truck, and had done so at the time. See below, I'll add them to this reply.
Nice set, David, both the mechanicals and the bench shot. I like the colour versions much better than the B+Ws as the warmth of some of the colours makes a lovely contrast with the cold snow. I think the conversions would work better as straight B+W to accentuate the cold and contrast.

Thank you Martin, you make quite a good point regarding the toning and the suggested coolness of the scenes, I should rectify that...
