Here are some grizzly bears i shot. Please comment on the sharpness, as i cant really tell how shartp it is, and would like to know because these were taken with ef 75-300mm lens, which people say is very soft. They dont look very soft to me...
I think they look alright but it is basically impossible to judge whether a lens is sharp or not by looking at these images alone. You need to show larger images/100% crops!
Anyways, don't worry too much about sharpness, I have a 75-300 too and it produces very nice results.
At least on the monitor I'm using, the first looks good, the second looks a little soft, I think some stronger PP might help resolve it better.
One thing that might help is to take some test shots of a known subject with the lens and test the sharpness. I notice on my 70-300 that at 300 its soft unless I step down a stop or two, but every lens has it's own personality.
they're both slightly soft. My current version of Mozilla won't give me your EXIFs - - would you mind sharing f/stop, shutter speed with us. Sharpness of lens can change with simple long lens technique.
