I'm also missing the old thread...it really should have been made a sticky.

kev,

Bravo. Really outstanding.

Thanks for the new submission. I've been watching your stuff for awhile and am really impressed with your ability to see and recreate the light. It's been fun to see how in recreating another masters work you have come into a style all your own.

Please don't stop. I want MORE!

A few from this past weekend. Orginally intended on using a two light setup, but a pocket wizard punked out on me. So had to manage with one light. All were taken with single AB800 strobe outfitted with the medium softbox.

Cheers,
-Jason

Jason... gorgeous photography, gorgeous model, but she could use some coaching on varying up her facial expressions

Gridded 580EX on climber. Snooted 580EX on the bystander's face, but ignore him and it becomes a one light shot

Hi Jonathan (and all others)... What is the difference between snooting a 580 and gridding it? I have never seen a grid on a lightsource as small as a 580 (or other speedlight for that matter). Obviously they lend themselves very well to snooting. Could you elaborate on this a bit and perhaps someone can post links to grids for speedlights?!

Cheers,

My wife with 580ex fired through shoot-through umbrella from behind and above.

Two white foam core boards either side of her face and one below to help with shadows.

Sorry...no setup shot.
