p.1 #1 · Canon Warranty transferrable?

I've heard that the warranty on lenses and bodies only applies to the first time, original purchaser, and is not transferrable.

Is this correct?

From my experience Canon doesn't worry about their warranty cards. If you have something that needs to fixed, all Canon wants it a copy of the sales receipt. And from what I've heard from others, it doesn't matter who name is on the receipt.
