p.1 #1 · Leopard Drivers Released for Canon iPF

Has anyone installed the new Leopard drivers for the iPF5100, 6100, 8100 or 9100 series printers? The latest release of these drivers take advantage of CUPS technology and are fully compatible with Leopard.

I was wondering if the performance increase was noticeable or the print quality increased.

Currently the drivers are only available from Canon Europe and are listed as follows:

Printer...................Firmware........Driver.............Media Conf. Tool..............Driver Extra Kit

iPF5100/6100......1.32................v1.12.............v2.62..............................v1.40

iPF8100/9100......1.34................v1.12.............v2.92..............................v1.40

Note: Leopard drivers have not been released for the iPF5000/8000/9000. Firmware updates are available, version 1.32 for the iPF5000/8000/9000 and version 1.33 for the iPF8000s/9000s.

p.1 #2 · Leopard Drivers Released for Canon iPF

Thanks Jerry - I have been waiting for the Leopard drivers for my IPF8000 and IPF9000 before upgrading the OS.

There is only a very slight difference between the 8x000 and 9x000 series printers. The inks are interchangeable. They re-formulated the black matte ink to be more scratch/smudge resistant - that is the only change other than MUCH better documentation.

Actually the black inks (reformulated) are not interchangeable with the 8000 and 9000. In any case, the Leopard drivers for the 5000/8000/9000 should be released in a few more weeks.
