Im trying to add a canvas around a picture and photoshop is not letting me choose my canvas extension color...This has happened to me before but cant think of what I need to do. Any ideas?
The canvas color by default is the background color.
When I create a mat around a photo I click a lighter tone in my center of interest with the eye-dropper to set it as the foreground color, and alt/opt+click on a dark shadow value in the background or foreground to set it as the background color. Then I select all and stroke a 1-2pt rule on the inside using the foreground color, then expand canvas, which uses the background color by default. With the rule isolating the photo from the mat I can click the mat with the magic wand to select it alone, then tweek its color tone with hue/saturation by eye for the best balance with the photo.
In CS3 there is a pull down menu for selecting foreground/background/white/gray/black/other
It is still un-highlighted....Im trying to put a border around my image by choosing my canvas colors, but it is not letting me click it and choose what I want. Anyone have an idea of what I am talking about?
i figured it out, looks like when I do a lens correction for my vintage it blocks the option of puting a canvas around my photo.....who knows, its photoshop.........
